Day 1: Kelflavik – Reykjavik
Arrival on Keflavik airport, transfer (private) to your hotel in Reykjavik.
Later (depends on time of arrival), city tour. See all of Reykjavik's landmarks on this private minibus tour. Excursion hits all of the city's important highlights. Visit the Harpa concert hall, the presidential residence at Bessastadir, and Hallgrimskirkja. Enjoy engaging commentary from your local guide and round-trip transportation from your hotel.
Day 2: Reykjavik - Blue lagoon – Norther light chase
Breakfast. This day you are going to Blue Lagoon (incl: entrance, comfort ticket, towel, silica mask and welcome drink).
At night, See one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles on this Reykjavik Northern Lights tour (3-5h). Hop into an air-conditioned vehicle with an expert guide, and venture deep into Iceland’s darkness-cloaked countryside, far from the electric glow of any towns. Stop at different locations to scan the ink-black skies for the legendary lights, and with luck, catch a dazzling display that you’ll remember forever.
Day 3: Reykjavik - South Iceland, Waterfalls and Black Sand Beach
Breakfast. South Iceland, Waterfalls and Black Sand Beach (12h). Your South Iceland journey will take you through the country’s lush farmlands, flanked by rugged mountains, glaciers (including the infamous Eyjafjallajökull) and volcanoes of the interior on one side and vast Atlantic ocean views on the other. On this tour of South Iceland you will also experience the powerful beauty of Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where the Seljalandsá river, which originates under Eyjafjallajökull glacier, falls, as well as Skógafoss, one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland. Just outside the town of Vík í Mýrdal (or just Vík to the locals) you will visit the soaring basalt rock formation known as Reynisdrangar and the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. Overnight stay in Kirkjubæjarklaustur region.
Day 4: South Iceland – Reykjavik
Breakfast. Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Trace Iceland’s spectacular south coast, a canvas of towering mountains, waterfalls, and glacial rivers. This mesmerizing lagoon is sure not to disappoint anyone and offers an otherworldly and unforgettable experience. To many, it is simply known as the ice lagoon since action scenes in James Bond Die Another Day and such movies made this dramatic and surreal landscape famous. The Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon is located at Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of the magnificent Vatnajökull Glacier which lies beyond it. Return to Reykjavik.
Day 5: Reykjavík – Golden circle – Lava Tunnel
Breakfast. Witness the three wonders of the famous Iceland Golden Circle (8h). Travel by air-conditioned vehicle with an expert guide and learn the history and geology of each site. See the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, the bubbling pools and Strokkur waterspout at Geysir and the incredible tectonic rift at Thingvellir National Park. On route, drink in Iceland’s stark beauty and learn how islanders are using its natural steam and geothermal waters to produce sustainable energy.
On your way you will also visit Lava Tunnel in 1h tour.
Day 6: Reykjavik - Snaefellsnes and Snæfellsjökull National Parks
Breakfast. Snaefellsnes National Park (12h).. This tour takes you west from Reykjavik on a scenic route to Borgarfjörður and the village of Borgarnes where a short stop will be made for refreshments. Shortly after entering Snæfellsnes peninsula, by Ytri-Tunga Farm you‘´ll get a chance to spot local wildlife at the beach which is home to a seal colony and variety of sea birds. Next up is a visit to the idyllic Arnarstapi village where you‘ll take a walk to view the extraordinary landscape along the precipitous shoreline and where a break will be made for lunch.
After lunch the tour continues to Djúpalónssandur, a tranquil, black-pebbled beach that offers beautiful views out to the sea and fascinating history that lies in the Snæfellsjökull National Park, close to where Jules Verne located his entrance for the “Journey to the Centre of the Earth”.
Leaving Djúpalónssandur you‘ll travel past striking landscapes to the north coast of Snæfellsnes peninsula to Grundarfjordur fishing village. Surrounded by exceptionally beautiful mountains Grundarfjörður is home to one of the peninsula‘s most iconic and photographed landmarks, the symmetrical mountain Kirkjufellthat towers 1500 ft. up from the shoreline.
Out of Grundarfjörður the route lies across Berserkjahraun lava fields that according to Viking legends was where two Swedish "Berserks" forged Iceland‘s first road and over to the south side of the peninsula through Vatnaleið pass.
Day 7: Reykjavik - Snaefellsnes and Snæfellsjökull National Parks
Breakfast. Free day to explore city by yourself, meet your hosts, try some local food and drinks, go shopping, persuing your own interest or just rest.
